“It is not time or opportunity that is to determine intimacy;—it is disposition alone. Seven years would be insufficient to make some people acquainted with each other, and seven days are more than enough for others.”
Sense & Sensibility  by  Jane Austen

Sense & Sensibility is the first of Jane Austen’s books to be published, note not the first to be written. Originally, title Elinor and Marianne it was written in the form of love letters. The story revolves around two sister who each have different approaches to love. Marianne is free with her thoughts, words and emotions while Elinor is the opposite. Marianne shows to the world her feelings for Willoughby while Elinor hides her feelings towards Edward.

At the bottom of the Pride & Prejudice page we added the lovely character map from Wikimedia Commons. Finding nothing for Sense & Sensibility and in an attempt to bring order to S&S’s cast of characters we have created for your pleasure a character map. Feel free to share but do not remove “janeundone.com” from the image.
